Thankfulness

July 12, 2014 Daniel Reimer
Millstatt, Austria.

Millstatt, Austria.

Today I am in Austria in a little lake town called Millstatt. I have been here for 3 days so far with my team. We are here to document a JV English camp, grab some interviews from students, and be as much a part of camp as we can. It has been a blast. After all of the traveling and working, today we finally get a break. Instead of packing up and heading out to the next location, we are staying put. There is another group that is coming here to do a camp in the same location. To take advantage of our short time off today, I decided to go for a run through the town. While setting my pace and listening to the most recent Coldplay album, I couldn't help but smile while gazing at the landscape around me. Big mountains, valleys, forest, a massive lake, dutchlanders. I am constantly asking myself, "where am I?!" I am thankful for the rest today and time to be still in prayer and in Gods word. I think I have felt a bit anxious with all that is going on out here right now though. With being on the road, leading an intern, taking massive amounts of video and photo, setting up interviews, and making sure we tell this story well, I feel the pressure to always have something excellent to show for it all. I don't think a rest day could have come at a better time. Today I have been remembering all that God has lead me through to bring to where He has me now and thanking Him for those things. Paul says in Philippians to instead of being anxious we need to rejoice, and in everything by prayer and supplication WITH THANKSGIVING, let you request be made known to God. Today is a day of thanksgiving. This is His story and plan, and I get to be a part of it. Whenever I start to feel anxious or restless, I am reminded that it might be that I am trying to fit my own plans into Gods plans instead of the other way around. Paul continues by saying that the peace of God which surpasses all understanding will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. This is truth. Letting go and asking God to bring to light His purposes and His plans and thanking Him for the great things He has done in my life and brought to me peace today. Looking forward to tomorrow and the rest of our time on the road and capturing the beauty of the great things He has done here in Eastern Europe. Čau!

Our 1000th camp.

July 10, 2014 Daniel Reimer

Yesterday was a great day. As my team and I were preparing to leave for Austria, I received an email from another team mate of mine that I could not ignore. Here is why. . . Josiah Venture's 1000th summer camp will be commence this Saturday on July 12th, 2014. This is huge! The first JV camp ever was launched 20 years ago. During that camp, 80 Czech people were numbered in attendance. Since then, close to 60,000 young people have attended these week-long events, and thousands have put their faith in Christ. Praise God!

As a part of celebrating this monumental time, we wanted to make a short video that draws attention to the great things that God has done. As we drove 6 hours to Austria, I pieced together this video. The images and interview have been compiled from some of the things that we have seen over the last week and a half of traveling and visiting camps. This is only a small taste of what is happening over here. I am looking forward to the next few weeks of traveling and documenting.  Pray that light would continue to pierce through the darkness and that Christ would be put on great display before these nations. In this we have hope, his sovereign plan to save a redeem. "In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of His grace, which He lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of His will, according to His purpose, which He set forth in Christ as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things to Him, things in heaven and things on earth." Ephesians 1:7-10
